A National Crime: The Residential School Experience in Canada

June is National Indigenous History Month across Canada! During this month we recognize and celebrate the history, heritage, resilience and diversity of First Nations, Inuit and Métis across the nation.
Until August 25, the Lakeshore Branch of the Innisfil ideaLAB & Library will be hosting an exhibit entitled A National Crime: The Residential School Experience in Canada. This exhibit has come to us from the Legacy of Hope Foundation and provides insight into the creation of the Residential School system, student experiences, the impact and traumas caused by the system, as well as Indigenous-led political action towards healing and Reconciliation.
Stop by the Lakeshore Branch at 967 Innisfil Beach Road anytime during regular hours of operation to view this important exhibit. Please note that the content of this exhibit may be upsetting to survivors, their family members, and anyone who has been impacted by this system.
